which web based FTP package?

hi. i work for a graphic design company and we FTP around a lot of files. Usually people are familiar with FTP and how to use it, but sometimes customers are not, and its always a hassle to talk them through how to setup a client over the phone and use our FTP server and upload their files.

im looking to simplify this by making a web-based FTP client available to them. This would be easier than having a regular pre-configured client available for download, as our customers use windows and macs, and just pointing them to a URL would be really simple.. I was thinking a java based client, but i have seen some PHP clients out there, which i am a little hesitant to use due to security reasons.

any input, experience, recommendations would be great. thanks. ease of use is the primary concern though.

something like http://www.net2ftp.com/ you mean?

of course web browsers can also be ftp clients for downloading. just use the url, ex:

ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/

or if it's your own server:

ftp://user@yourserver.com

and it will prompt for password, or set it up for anonymous ftp, etc.

yeah, the web browser thing would be nice, but ive found them to be a bit unreliable in transferring, and they don't always do well with the userass format. People will be using anything from firefox to IE to opera to whatever OSX uses, so a java based client like net2ftp would be good, but do you know any open source packages on sourceforge that you would recommend? thanks.
