Which RPMs
Which RPM versions should I choose if there isn't one for Suse or do I have to compile from source?
Thanks in advance - I'm going offline for a few days. Dave |
what do you mean which versions.. ? you can pick whichever one since Suse uses RPM to install.. most of the time they refer to Redhat since RPM stands for Redhat Package Manager...

Its just that I notice lots of packages that have versions provided by Mandrake, Redhat, Debian etc.
I'm going to bury my head in books for a few days and hopefully learn a few things. |
If you use a rpm that was made for another distro you may run in trouble with dependencies.
On the other side I tried to upgrade mozilla and galeon with Suse rpm's from Suse and that didn't do any good at all - just try whatever you feel like. |
