Which p2p client?

Hi there!

I tried some different p2p clients (amule and stuff) some time ago, but I had some problems with it and forgot about it for a while.

Now, before I get back to it, I'd like to know if someone can recommend some client for ..hmm whatever network the original eMule uses...

What programm is good? why is it better than some other? Which one should I ignore?

What are your expiriences?

Thanks a lot, Sascha

I've heard that LimeWire Pro is quite good, they have a Linux version of the software available.
However i've not tried it on Linux yet.

But isn't LimeWire an own network too? I am not a crack in these things... but I remember that I installed it on Win several years ago... I think it was a lousy Java-Programm back then... slower than slow ... that may be fixed now, but... what about the network? Is it the one from eMule ?

Thnkas for your comment, I 'll have a look at it :-)

limewire is a gnutella client. more than likely you'll have trouble insatlling java to make it work, so don't bother. it's a bit naff imho anyway.

for a pure gnutella client, try gtk-gnutella.sf.net (gnome) or qtella.net (kde)

alternatively there's gift.sf.net which supports a LOT of networks, kazaa, gnutella, opennap, openft... it's a little odd to configure and understand, but worth the hassle definitely.

bittorrent is also very good, but noticably different in concept to other p2p networks,
