which one is more stable/Productive KDE or GNOME ?

There isn't an accurate answer to this type of question. Try both out and then stick with the one that you prefer.

You can install both--in fact some distros come with both installed. You can also run two sessions--one Gnome and one KDE-- and toggle between them. Soon you will be answering similar questions from others.

I doubt if there are any substantive stability differences.

Productive? For what?
