Which ICQ client?

I'm really curious what you guys are using. There are plenty of clients out there. Perhaps licq which I'm using now isn't the best app...

Mara 10-27-2002 11:09 AM

I'm not using icq. But I've got a client installed - BitchX.

Ztyx 10-27-2002 11:19 AM

Isn't BitchX a IRC-client?

nautilus_1987 10-28-2002 11:41 AM

Yes it is...
I was using mICQ, but now I will give a try for GAIM

try SIM( simple instant messenger) it's great. it even minimizes to system tray like icq. has most of the windows icq features.
check it out

edit/ isn't alvero's just an msn client?

JesusCow 10-28-2002 05:20 PM

well why is there only 8 options??

Muddy 10-31-2002 09:50 AM

Gaim for sure, I've been using it for over a year now and it's all I've ever needed... it's nice to have all the chat clients in one window with tabs.. keeps the clutter down.

Since I have no good answer I am now ignoring this message ;-)

I have tried GAIM, but as soon as micq 0.4.9.4 appeared ( it already can transfer files ) I came back to mICQ

wonderpun 11-01-2002 08:25 AM

Yep, micq all the way! It doesn't take much resources, is comfortable, finally I can transfer files with it and I like because I can use it when I'm out of X. :)

I often use ssh sessions to my server at home (when I'm at university or at a friend's place etc) so graphics are no real option.
Therefore I love CenterICQ.
It supports not only ICQ, but also AIM, MSN and a few others and works the best for me :)
