Which DVD software can play DVD from hard drive

I am using Xine. While it plays DVS disc fine, it does not understand .IFO file and so cannot play the entire movie from an NTFS partition.

Anybody knows which DVD software (or Xine) can do this (play DVD from hard drive)?

Thanks.

I guess your copying a DVD to your hard drive?
You could rip it instead with "vobcopy". The resulting
vob is playable with Xine.

You can use mplayer and specify the directory of your hard drive backup as the dvd device:
Code:
mplayer dvd://1 -dvd-device /path/to/video
Where dvd://1 plays title number 1, and /path/to/video is the directory containing the back up video.

Play DVD from hard drive

For more info. In Win2000, I ripped DVDs (not copy) to my NTFS partition then I can watch the entire moving using Intervideo DVD to select the directory path. It plays just like a DVD disc (not just one VOB then stop).

I would like to have the exact feature with Linux. Xine does not seem to be able to do this.

OK, I will try mplayer or ogle.
Thanks for all the help.
