Which disk?
 
Hello! I am a newbie to Linux, and I am about to get Red Hat 6.1. I currently run Windows 98 on a 7.5 GB hard drive, and I am planning on adding a 30 GB hard drive for Linux. I would like to know what this other hard drive will be called, so that when I install, I know which drive to install it on. Any help is appreciated! Thank's for reading.

You're 7.5G drive is known as hda. The second drive designation depends on where you connect it. If you connect it as a primary slave, it will be hdb. As secondary master, hdc. And as secondary slave, hdd.

I would use primary slave ( hdb ).
