Which DE has more apps designed for it?

Hi, I was just wondering:

Which Desktop Environment has more programs designed for it?

As far as I know some programs work only/properly on a certain DE that they are designed for. Hence my question.

Most applications will work on any GUI. One thing to keep in mind, however, is if Gnome applications are installed on KDE, KDE apps. on Gnome, Gnome or KDE on Xfce, etc., a ton of dependencies will be dragged in.

The most applications? My guess would be KDE. It has an application for almost everything. Window Maker also has a large range of applications designed specifically for it, by they are quite "minimalistic". So would not be appealing to people who like a "modern" look.
