which configuration script contains the line to set your default windows manager?

Hi there. Which file contains the line to set your default windows manager, and whereabouts is it in that script?

I'm not pleased with the manager I just tried out (Enlightenment. Looks great, but hangs like it's being lynched for me), so I'd like to try another one, fluxbox this time.

The file is .xinitrc (inside your home folder), unless you're using a X session manger like kdm or gdm.

Create your ~/.xinitrc with a content like this:

Quote:

exec fluxbox
So type 'startx' and you'll use fluxbox as your default window manager.

thanks. :) i figured it out though, i never took off GNOME, which came packed with this particular version of debian so I had GDM, and quite accidentally found out how to change it.
