which Clustersoftware, no load balancing

Hi geeks,

i search for an optimal cluster software... i have two old Compaq Deskpro servers, both the same model, but not the same hard disk size with 2 network cards per computer (one connection is the heartbeat, crossover cable)

the mission critical application is the sms client (www.smsclient.org). The sms client export a NFS filesystem to a unix server. The unix server puts the alerts on the filesystem, then the sms client sends it out. When one sms client computer fails i want that the other sms client server make the work, without interrupt. I dont have any knowledge in high available cluster computing.

can you advise good open source products for this job? so I can do preparing work and read the howtos.

thank you for sharing your know-how
