Question Which abiword rpm download for redhat 5.1


I find multiple files to download: sparc ,alpha ? I have an old intel 166 processor. Please enlighten me!!!

sparc sounds like a sun thing
might i suggest alpha
or Openoffice makes a good text editor

Um, no.

Alpha is a RISC processor developed by DEC. You don't want that.

You can try the i386 rpms, but I wouldn't know if they will work.

yeah, you should be okay with the i386 rpms... sparc and alpha are different cpu architectures... the one's you want are *.i386.rpm

if anything, you can always get the tarball and compile the source code...

try the rpms first, though...
