where to place my tcl scripts for ns2 to see them ?

Hello all.
I am a newbie linux user.
I have ns2.34 allinone version installed on ubuntu 10.04
I have validated it succesfully.
This is my path.

/home/alin/ns-allinone-2.34/bin:/home/alin/ns-allinone-2.34/tcl8.4.18/unix:/home/alin/ns-allinone-2.34/tk8.4.18/unix

I place tcl scripts in /home/alin/ns-allinone-2.34/bin/
and I try to run them so:

$ns example1.tcl

and I get this output:

couldn't read file "example1.tcl": no such file or directory

What's wrong ?What should I add to my path ?

Welcome to LQ. .. .. ..

The tcl scripts can have location anywhere in /home/alin/ ...
E.g. /home/alin/ns2/examples/

The commands are then to be 1) cd /home/alin/ns2/examples/
2) ns example1.tcl

Your used location, /home/alin/ns-allinone-2.34/bin/
is not unusable, but example1.tcl is not a binary,
so I wouldn't recommend it.
Anyway : Please always change directory to the used location.
Or use the full path : 'ns /home/alin/ns2/examples/example1.tcl'
..

Other info : LQ Search , Tag or Keyword = ns2
..
