where to give the command

Dear All,
I am configuring imc,in kamailio .I see from the docs that the procedure to add an user is
" #create chat-000 private " .. i would like to know where i need to give this command . iam using xlite as my softphone ..iam using putty to connect to my linux machine. i would like to know if i need to give this command in "x-lite phone" or should i give that command in putty or in some other location.Kindly brief me

You're more likely to get answers with a meaningful title, one including the words imc, kamailio, xlite and putty.
