Hey guys....

so, again, yes.... the sm56 question.

and yes, ive read a good 50 posts, all exactly the same !

but all posts stop when they get to actually downloading the sm56 driver.

when we try to load this driver, we get an error,

my kernel 2.4.22 was compiled (my myself) with gcc 3.3

and the sm56 driver was compiled with an ANCHANT 2.x

so....
could we get further in the quest to get this modem working and ask.

where can i get a version compiled with a recent compiler...
OR, where can i get the sources to compile myself ????

and i reealy am sorry about posting this, its been done a million times before.

but none of them get as far as asking how to fix the problem.

After googl'ing on sm56+source I actually found the driver for gcc3..... on .... blah blah .... sm56.tk!
(6th in the google list)
