where is the iptables dufault rules config file?
who know this?
and if the gnome will use some ports?

Assuming its a Fedora machine, ip tables config file is at /etc/sysconfig/iptables. You can use system-config-securitylevel to configure it. Take a look at
Firestarter. It is a very user friendly firewall program for linux. Da best. I use it myself.
