Where is gtk-config?

Hi,
I'm still trying to install gphotocoll. Configure stops with the following -

The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found.
If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in your path, or set the GTK-CONFIG environment variable to the full path to gtk-config.
congigure error - GTK not installed.

GTK is installed!

I've tried locate and find. Can anyone explain this message, point me to an understandable article so I can understand about PREFIX or, help in anyway?

I'm running Suse 8.

you need gtk+-devel

Chris,
Trying to install gtk+-devel sends me on a dependancy merry-go-round - dependancy needs dependancy needs dep....etc,etc,etc.

There is some info on gtk.org - gtk.org/faq/#AEN247 but it does not mean much to me.

I don't know whether to :study: , or forget all about Linux.

Thanks for replying though.
Dave

well.. just satisfy the dependencies. unless you've gone pretty wonky somewhere along the line already you should have no problem. just make it happy.
