Where I can Divx Player? How to install it?

Hi, I'm new Linux user (although I've installed it many times some years ago...), and I've some problem with reading divx. I've some movies make in windows, and I haven't a divx player. I've tried to download some software, but I don't know how to compile it. Can you tell me how can I do (any manuals, sites...)? Or do you know any divx player that don't need compiling? Thank you very much

The best movie player so far is mplayer. Installing is simple, just di this (if you haven't already done):

1.- Open xterm
2.- Log into root
3.- run apt-get update
4.- run apt-get install synaptic
5.- run synaptic
6.- search for mplayer
7.- select for install and press start button
8.- enjoy

For any other program you wish to install, search it with synaptic to see wheter is available or not. If so, you don't have to do anything else. If not, you'll have to get the source and compile.

You also need to install win32 codecs coz mplayer won't be able to play certain media without them. You can get them from the downloads section of the mplayer website.

Go to freshrpms.net and download apt and synaptic for your version of fedora. Install the rpm as root, e.g

#rpm -Uvh packagename.rpm

Then do

#apt-get update
and then
#apt-get install package

Nope Fedora has never included apt/synaptic in it's packages, yum is the preferred application. Apt/Synaptic can however be downloaded from Fedora Extras but they seem to have taken their time to update the extras packages for Core 3.
