Where do I put my cgi-bin scripts?

not on my own server, but on the web server I'm using where I can't change the httpd.conf.

do i need to specify the location of the cgi-bin directory in my .htaccess file? If so, how?

There's no universal answer to this -- it depends on how your Web host has set things up. Did they give you any instructions? You could try making a cgi-bin directory in your web directory and then adding a .htaccess with Option +ExecCGI in it, but your host may have disabled user-setable options.

got it. Thanks.

I wanted to put my cgi-bin outside of my base web directory, but I can't do that with the server's configuration.
