where do i change library settings


in which file can i edit the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable?

I think pretty much anywhere. If you want to be sure, you can append values to the variable in /etc/rc.local, as it is the last file that gets executed at startup.

Also, you can add the paths to /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig for the same effect.
