If you're using Suse, you'll have to download it from thier site. If you're using Redhat, you have to pick it with the package manager. Both distros do not load this by default.

Try typing into a terminal:
whereis mc
This should bring up the location, it does have to be installed to do this though

By the way, mc is also part of the SuSE distribution - at least with SuSE 8.1 Professional, it doesn't have to be downloaded from the website (I'm not sure about SuSE personal).
