whenever kernel panic comes it destroys the whole partition including that of windows
hai friends,
Iam having a pc with dual boot, windows and redhat linux7.1. sometime back linux crashed saying kernel panic. when i tried to go to windows also, i got the message that harddisk is bad. why this is happening? is there any solution. with thanks in advance harish |
Maybe your harddisk is just bad.
Is it the default kernel that comes with Redhat or have you made a custom kernel for it? I assume you have just one harddisk in there which isn't on any controller card. Is your bios able to recognize the whole harddisk or do you use one of those programs from the hd manufacturers to get it to recognize the whole disk? Where there any other actions you did before you rebooted and got the kernel panic message? A little more information might help. |
Booting problem
Dear All, System have dual operating system windowXP and Linux Red Hat 7.1. One day system was showing L sign is display after rebooting. There is no further any action. Please Suggest solution for this.
