When trying to compile module, FATAL: section header offset in file is larger than...

Hey guys,

When I try to compile a certain driver from source, I get this error halfway through the make:

Code:
FATAL: section header offset=(a bunch of numbers) in file 'vmlinux' is bigger than filesize=(a bunch of smaller numbers)
I'm pretty sure I have built this driver module before off this kernel, but maybe not. What does this error mean?

It means you're barking up the wrong tree. The offset is bigger than the file.

When it crashes out, hit up arrow & return, and post that output.

It means that by some reason the modpost tries to parse 64-bit header while you most likely built a 32-bit binary.
