When I use kdvi to view a basic dvi file, the program crashes

I have done a fresh install of RHEL WS3 update 3 on an x86_64 box. When I try to use kdvi to view a dvi file, it crashes after generating the fonts.

rpm -qf /usr/bin/kdvi
kdegraphics-3.1.3-3.3

rpm -V kdegraphics comes back clean.

$ kdvi tex/test/chp2note.dvi
QMetaObject::findSignal:KDVIMultiPage: Conflict with KMultiPage::numberOfPages(int)
QMetaObject::findSignal:KViewPart: Conflict with KParts::Part::setStatusBarText(const QString&)
/usr/bin/kdvi: line 2: 6205 Alarm clock kviewshell dvi "$@"

kdvi does not crash when it is run with no file input

Thanks!

If you don't have any special reason to use kdvi, you may choose xdvi instead. This is my favourite because in expert mode it has nothing else but your text on screen and navigation by keyboard is quite smooth. And it has never crashed for me.

Best,

Ott
