Hi billsteve,

welcome to Linuxquestions.org!
I dare to say that your question is not giving enough details. Usually it is a good idea to post at least which distro you're using and errors you get when the task stops, i. e. the output of ./configure.
I guess that not too many have the app you tried to install, but the program output could give clues about what is going wrong and thus provide you with answers

Cheers,

titopoquito

Thank you for replying Tito. I am sorry I do not have enough information for y’all. I am using Fedora Core 4, and this is what it looks like when I try to run “./configure”. I did not even know i was running the right commands, and maybe a am not.

[billsteve@localhost SDK]$ ls
bin engine example Makefile pb vc6
doc EULA.txt lib mk ReadMe.txt vc7
[billsteve@localhost SDK]$ ./configure
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

Please read about the appropriate steps to compile this app in the ReadMe.txt.
It looks like there is no configure file so if this right you wouldn't have to type this in. If it is really a Linux app (I'm a little bit confused about the DOS/Windows sounding file names) you will probably have to type in at the command prompt
Code:
make
make install
but to make this sure please look in the ReadMe.txt

not all programs use ./configure, make, & make install,
although that is very common. Some have an install
executable already (e.g. ./install). When you untar
this program, is there a README and/or INSTALL file?
If so, read it. Each program differs.
