Whats the first things you did when you installed ARCH Linux?

After I installed it I realized how personal it really was!
I guess ill get the basics firefox, gimp, open ssh...

As for the user interface-gui I have no idea what do get.
What is your experience with user interfaces with arch? I might just install stuff and leave it as a terminal for speed, but I would like a really slick interface...

I recently moved from cozy linux mint12 to the stiff bare bones arch linux beast.

Arch + XFCE works well for me. I use Nautilus instead of the XFCE default (Thunar), but I don't remember why.

I don't understand this---you need a GUI for Firefox, GIMP, etc.
