what would cause a system clock to jump

hey all,

I have a server that yesterday jumped ahead one hour. This happened at about 3pm local time. We are not connecting to the network time server, and we are not anywhere close to DST.

Just kinda weird, this happens sometimes when we reboot, but we did not reboot, uptime is several months.

Anyone know what can cause a system to jump an hour into the future ?

thanks

I would start by replacing the cmos battery with a new one.
