Hi

Firstly what Distro are you using?,maybe there is a package already for your installation.
The source files for GD can be found at http://www.boutell.com/gd/ , the development libraries you should be able to get off the distro CD etc.

Cheers

Hi Shawn,
I have already installed gd-2.0.33.tar.gz and configured it with php. But phpinfo still seem to show the old values of 1.6.2. The error "Call to undefined function: imagecolorallocatealpha() " also persisted. Am using Red hat 9. In one of the forums I learnt that I needed lbgd-devel something, since I had not installed it earlier. Is it true that I need it? The link that you gave only provides Gd library and not the devel pacakages. I downloaded one libgd-devel-2.0.20-2.i386.rpm but its version was not matching. It needed libgd-devel-2.0.20.i386.rpm. DO you have the link for it??? Thanks.
