Hey guys and gals,

I've managed to download, configure and compile Kopete 0.9 using Mandrake 10.1 Community Edition after a fair bit of package upgrading and so on. The ./configure command says everything has worked out and I can start make, which I do. This works fine. So does make install. But now what? There's no executable file to replace the one already in usr/bin and I've exported the path so KDE can find the new app. When i run kopete it launched the old version so I removed that, re-did the config/make/makeinstall procedure but now the "kopete" isnt recognised at all. I'm sure I'm almost there. Anybody got an idea. Much appreciated as usual, I'm open to all sorts of craziness!
