Dear all! I think it is not at present or in near future linux will be having absolutely foolproof sound support- in that I have yet to come across an uninterrupted and unlimited digitization of high sampling frequency (16 kc/s and above) facility in linux. I think ( I may be wrong here) it is mainly because linux is a multitasking O.S. Way back in 1970s we used to stop the O.S. and then could play the digitized speech on a main frame computer- CDC 3600. Surprisingly however we had sun sparc stations with solaris O.S., where we could digitize and play speech/music data without any problem. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.
Anyway thanks evryone and especially Jeromy for making this forum available to absolutely newbees like me
regards to all

Honestly, rapid share is the worst place to download stuff from
wget is extremely reliable, if it stops downloading after 4% then either
A. Your internet sucks
B. you have a broken wget package
C. whatever the server you are downloading from is really unreliable

YeahWrite

It already works well with Wine with the only problems being fonts and formatting not showing up correctly.

Cool ModPlug Tracker

Uhn... I see there are software like Rosegarden and the like, but so many people used Modplug Tracker... I also liked it very much, and flip to XXXXXXX only to use it! There are a few programs that do similar tasks, but some look too strange... some are too complicated, and some are too simple. I think Modplug Tracker was good. What you guys are using to that kind of thing?
