Magic Jack

I use MagicJack on Windows. It would be nice to port it to Linux (Debian would be good). Currently, it hangs when trying to install with WINE. For $20/year, it is cheap long distance plus no monthly phone bills (especially from ATT who is always trying to sneak past customers additional charges for non-use and non-support -e.g., long distance fees when you do not use them for long distance). I do understand Magic Jack is working on a "non-PC" solution (still requires broadband connection), but not sure when it will be available - they already delayed some "ship dates" (to work out any additional bugs).

Yes, agreed. I was used to use it yet in window$, and still I do.
Just remember, if normally U use microphone (say.. for Skype), to change input source to StereoMix from FrontMic or something like this (in the Mixer Toolbar Button) , and you'll be able even registering directly playing video on UtUbe.

Enjoy

Seriously, have a good look at gedit. It's native Linux, actively developed, extensible, high end and reliable. After a bit of a learning curve, I have found it to be far better than anything from Windoze that resembles it, including Notepad, Notepad+, and Editpad.

At first, Fedora 10 is outdated. It will not get security updates and bugfixes, and you will get problems to install newer software for that. Except that, YahooMessenger will not run even with Wine, so you have to use Windows for that or use a compatible Linux program.

Or what's wrong with Piggin? I actually prefer an IM client which handles all the message servers in one program.

That is the one I am using right now, but is missing few important things like block manipulation adjustable multiple tab in the same line, no control on print format. Textpad has all that and more.

Notepad++ have some very unique features such as hex edit/view, transcode codepages on text, regex replace .. no it's not irreplaceable but highly developed and handy.
For fast/fix coding i use Kate with it's autofill handy function even on unknown codebase
Gedit is light fast editor #2 choice but have problems with codepages and few actually usable plugins.

In my POV - code editors like Kate/Gedit/NP++ must be light, fast, customizable, flexible search/replace with ability to attach custom/popular cheatsheet syntax/fns formats, in difference to highly one-platform customized, often bloated, slow, compiler cooperative IDE's.

vim (and gvim) pretty much has all of those features, and is definitely my favorite editor. I do admit however that there is a very steep learning curve, but once you know how to use it, it is very efficient to use (and you don't need to use the mouse )

I'd really like to see Steam ported to Linux. Source games are designed to run well in Wine, so Valve isn't ignoring Linux completely. And with Steam for Mac, it's clear Valve isn't tied to any particular OS, so perhaps they'd be willing to release a Steam client with Wine built in, and support for native Linux games.
Another program I'd like to see ported, is a program that nobody likes, but many are stuck with: Punkbuster. Currently, running pb under wine makes it think you're hacking, and you get kicked from whatever game you're trying to play. As a result, tons of multiplayer games are virtually unplayable on Linux.

Hi,

Quickbooks is one we would buy and use. The one from Intuit. On the other hand I just had a runin with Norton (my wife insists on using MS Windows). We don't need that junk wasting resources for us.
