never having run wine, i'll guess autoit/autohotkey controls only win apps (that are running in wine, too)

Yeah, this is a terribly inefficient way to collect comment/suggestion/wishes.

It really doesn't matter. It's not like someone is going to port anything just because we state our wish here, in a blog or in any other place.

Major issue is not so much will they make it. its why. Most windows developers dont want to touch linux, Visa/Versa.

Dont get me wrong. i like it both ways, this is why i still dual-boot for some things. but, the Ending Solution to all are problems is Banning Closed Source Licensing.

another issue is the Companys wallets. and the one way they know for sure that another Developer or Cracker cant Duplicate there products. is to use Closed Source Licensing and Enforce anti-debbugging. in Encrypted/packed Loaders. to insure that, no matter what they dont lose 1 cent..

I dont mind paying for software, and this is not what thats about. but i dont like paying for software thats useless. like Windows.

I've seen that request so many times that I'm beginning to think it has some sort of hidden meaning . Why does the Gimp always get ignored? It comes with every distribution so its not like people don't know its there. It's pretty intuitive. I use it and it seems to work well. I have access to Photoshop but I've not had a need to go there.

I think the problem here is that the Gimp and Photoshop have a sufficiently different interface that people who know one don't easily operate the other. The result is that there is a lack of realistic comparison.

I've seen beginners struggling with nero only to find out that they need a different version to do what they want to do. I don't know about Ultra iso.

K3B writes isos and does all the copying and backup you need to do without any fuss or prior knowledge of this stuff. Not that nero is not a good program, but I can't imagine why someone wouldn't want to replace it with K3B.

I'm wondering if it's just the progam names that are unfamiliar to some folks. Maby Linux developers should offer programs with a name choice.

Seems to me I've seen tables of Winders applications with their Linux equivalents somewhere -- or maybe it was Linux apps with their Winders equivalents -- but I don't remember where....

Nero - Nero-Linux 3, is Nero for Linux.

Ultraiso - ok yes, Ultraiso is EASY. but not very feature packed. take a look in you're distributions Repository's. theres alot better.
