What Is With Adobe & x86_64 Support

What is with Adobe and there lack of Flash x86_64 support? I can't tell you how annoying it is not to have good Flash support in 64 bit Linux.I mean come on already how long have 64 bit versions been out now.

Why not use a 32-bit browser with the 32-bit plugin? Works fine for me using Firefox-2.0.0.1 and Flash Player 9. You aren't gonna see any difference browsing the web using a 64-bit browser over a 32-bit browser. x86_64 is a multilib architecture, so what's the rush to produce a 64-bit plugin?

Or maybe support free and open implementations of the flash specification (such as gnash). If you really need to, you can always use something like nspluginwrapper to use plugins written for any platform on any other platform. NOTE: this works only for those plugins which use the NSPAPI (e.g., firefox, seamonkey).

Adobe seems to remain pretty elusive about it. I suspect their 64 bit flash will be released as soon as everyone is running 128 bit computers...

Anyway, on both SUSE and Fedora, it should be possible to use a 32 bit firefox with 32 bit flash, without getting into chroots or pluginwrappers.

Since the OP is specifically discussing x86_64, with any standards compliant distro it's possible to use 32-bit Firefox and 32-bit Flash.
