what is wine-bin?

While trying to install wine, I found another item called wine-bin--a windows binary loader. Should I install it? It sounds important, but it apparently isn't required.

I'm using fedora, and I don't seem to have it, yet I have everything installed for wine. So apparently whatever distro you are using it has something to do with your system? Err, what distro are you using anyway?

I couldn't find any mention of it in Google or on winehq.org.

What's a windows binary loader, and where did it say that it is?

I just checked the description again; I made a mistake. It doesn't say "Windows binary loader"; it says "Windows API implementation - binary loader." I don't know, maybe I was spaced out from lack of sleep, and wasn't reading it properly; that's been happening a lot. Sorry for the confusion. My mistake.

But anyway, do I need this? The description (in Synaptic) says "This package provides the binary loader program for running Windows executables," but the main wine package apparently doesn't depend on it.

If you found that on line it would be nice if you provided a link. We can all learn something today.

I still wonder what a "binary loader" is.

I found it in Synaptic Package Manager (so technically yes, it's online), listed after the main Wine package. @ MTK: I have no idea what a binary loader is--my understanding of software and of programming isn't advanced enough--but it sounds important, certainly significant.

To me, it sounds important enough to install LOL
