what is the most awesomest image editor now?

I went chasing GIMP this weekend for my Slackware-based Vector box and never could get to their downloads, they seem to not exist. However, Vector did throw in another image editor. I haven't tried to chase apps in awhile and was supprised that my one-stop shoppind destination, Freshmeat, is now Freecode. Anyway, my question is what is the image editor everyone is using now? I will be doing a combination of drawing and editing trying to draw some fantasy art. Also, what is a good editor for Android Froyo while we are here? (I would like to get Ice Cream Sandwich on my Sidekick but that's another project for another time).

You mean these downloads?
Don't use Vector Linux, but I'd guess there should be a ready-made package for gimp in the main software repository.
Give a try at mypaint too, if you're going to draw something.

Shouldn't you be able to use your package manager to install GIMP?
You may also want to have a look at Krita: http://www.krita.org/

I think Krita is the one i found. My Vector box is not on the web and i can't get any of the GIMP's mirrors to work. I'm trying to connect on my phone and can do so all other places i have tried.

You don't have to use GIMP's mirrors, you have to use Vector's mirrors, like http://vectorlinux.osuosl.org/, just go into your versions directory, you will find the GIMP package in packages/xap/, but keep in mind that you may need also to install dependencies.
