The easiest way is to play them on Windows with Windows Media Player. Or you could use the w32codecs and enable them with mplayer or xmms or other media player.

xavierP sounds slightly exasperated tonight.
But sure enough, if you want to play everything that you are used to playing, get mplayer, read the instructions, make sure you have the latest codecs.
Then you can also get mplayerplugin for your browsers and have it handle all the multimedia you want to browse.
Also, if you have any difficulties installing either of those, there is loads of info already on these forums. Just go to the newbie or software forum and search in the forum for 'mplayer' or 'mplayerplugin'.
