KDE defaults to bottom menus, which means it is the same as Windows
Gnome defaults to top menus, which means that it is the same as Mac
Seriously, you will have to give us some context for you question to get any kind of meaningful answer.
Based on your other post, I'm wondering if this is homework.....

One has a cute little dragon for a mascot, the other has a picture of a foot.
One is simply yet annoying method for changing desktop wallpaper, the other has a very, very, slightly more complicated but not at all annoying method for changing desktop wallpaper.
One is currently on version 4.1.3, the other 2.2.somethingorother
Back in 2002, this guy had some interesting ideas on the differences.
Is it just my imagination or is there an increase in... weird... questions like this being posted recently. I saw a post recently where someone asked 'what is Linux?'. The OP on this thread recently asked "what is the difference between Xwindow and Xserver". It's like walking in to a Ford dealership and saying "What is car? How car go?"

Oh snaps, grab the keyboard and the mouse. It is a Post Drive By. Give me all your posts now. From Behind the counter, do you want me to include the stupid posts with that.
Sorry for my bad sense of humor. Could not resist. Since today seems to be a stupid question day.

Off-topic, but allowable within a "drive by" post/thread. (My interpretation of the rules.... )
I am absolutely convinced that the incidence of "1-post-hit-and-run" is way up in the last year. It's not hard to conjure up reasons.
I recently proposed something that I called a "homework lock". The idea was that any thread that looked like a "hit and run" would--after a warm welcom, and request for more info/clarification, get locked such that only the OP could respond. With no response, it would die after some time.
The idea is not currently being considered, but---where is obviously makes sense---I am starting to **suggest** that people hold their comments until we can establish if we are dealing with a troll or a real person.
