what is the correct "trusted location" format for using flashplayer in wine?

Having mostly sorted a homework issue which allegedly required w__ , I can't open a web link within the program. I suspect it may be a trusted location requirement, as http://homepage.ntlworld.com/philip.aston/fpsc.png shows, but what would be the "address" given that I am using mozilla within wine? Thank you

Why are you using mozilla in wine instead of the native version?

First of all I must thank you for your very quick reply. I think http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d-more-667414/ makes it a little clearer. I have found some difficulty in loading appropriate plugins for media sources, although have generally got there in the end- eg I have a faster computer that eventually managed the youtube videos. On this occasion, the homework in question is called "exam cafe", I was getting nowhere and was preparing to swap computers to make my dual boot debian/vista available.

I haven't spent long on this but gather that shockwaveplayer is a problem and guess that it is a DR issue- so was delighted to find a way round it without infringing anyone's copyright.

and that is because I didn't explain myself properly

The application is contained in a cd which can either be "installed" (which seems to simply copy the files to C:/program files- in my case, this is within wine) or run live. To operate it within linux, I open an html file from the windows version of firefox. I do this, as it seems to be the easiest way to get shockwaveplayer.

Everything then behaves as a webpage, images, hyperlinks, etc. (This didn't work within native firefox/iceweasel.) There is one exception- a link to the website of a well known publication. AFAICT a simple bookmark does exactly the same thing, but I'm not entirely sure about this, as I can't understand the .html file (and of course I assume that I can't post it due to copyright).

Searching aroung for reasons why clicking on this hyperlink does nothing, I found http://www.macromedia.com/support/do...manager04.html . The disk contains some documentation, indicating that the adobe flashplayer settings manager should "trust" the address c:/// or, running the live cd, d:///.

The c:/// option didn't work, but I wondered whether a "real" linux location rather than a virtual w$ one might be needed- the full path would be easy enough- or should I specify my entire /home/<user> directory?

(Or find a workaround outside this software?) Thanks

No you should use the C:*whatever* address within wine, otherwise the windows programs will get confused if the path contains invalid characters - like '.'
