what is the best...? (different apps)

i recently changed from windows xp to suse 9.0, and i'm still finding my way around. what i'd like to know is what are the best applications for the following:
-mp3 player (currently using XMMS, but i actually like that )
-ftp app (currently using gFTP, but i don't think you can't use quick format like ftp://userassword@
-audio software (i'm using KAMix right now, but there's no options for 5.1 surround, so when i'm playing music it's just stereo even with everything unmuted)
-webbrowser (currently using Konqueror, but i'm having some visual problems when visiting sites that have been made with VS .NET. also it crashes when doing a server postback action -> i'm making a site with VS.NET, and it looks ok with IE but with Konqueror it's totally messed up)

thanks for any hints

I like xmms too. I have no opinion on the ftp or audio software, and my favourite browser is Opera.
