What is KDE Daemon?

Every time i start linux the little Cat Icon(KDE Daemon) is in my task bar and when i hit restore it is always doing something... This process takes up 75,000 of my VM in processes table... IS this cruticial system task or can I get rid of it...

What is This?

What does it do?

How about providing more info e.g. what distro you are using? If you are running Mandriva. Uninstall a package called kat and hopefully you problems will be resolved.
