what is best GUI ftp client?
I'am looking for good ftp client (dont tell me about gFtp.. or about CLI clients, sometimes i use ncftp..)
IglooFTP-PRO doesn't work, it fails to start, kbear doesn't compile (errors finding libz..) deadftp doesn't resume, and doesn't start downloading after reconnect.. some bugs?
I need queue (gFtp with good queue would rock..), automatic resuming to files and site management.. flashfxp have all these features, but it's only for windows
So, what would you recommend?

LinuzRulz, did you read his post? I usually don't mention this as it's sometimes easy to miss, but you were the first to reply, and he/she mentions that they don't need comments/suggestions for gftp...
Cool

what's wrong with GFTP?
gftp allows queueing...I don't get it. check the options - you probably have something disabled. Queueing works fine for me - and I imagine that that is what the second person is referring too. *shrug*

yes it has, but you can not add items to queue, rearrange them and later push "go" button and so on..

Prozilla
Prozilla hands down. It will keep going after your file until it has it. Automatically retrys every 30 seconds (handy for Slashdotted iso servers)

So, according to the people who replied to this thread, the only 2 GUI ftp clients are prozilla and gftp. Hmmm.... something's rotten in Denmark.

prozilla is not gui.try prozGUI.any way,it is a download accelerator, and therefore much different from gftp.there are many more download accelerators in linux.(see my sig for that, the windows-linux link and download accelerator link.)

Here are some:
Konqueror.
IglooFTP. [Prop]
Nftp.
Wxftp.
AxyFTP.
mc.
tkFTP.
Yafc.
Dpsftp
MC is Midnight Commander. It's a great file manager (similar to Windows/Norton Commander) and has ftp capabilities as well.
If you are used with Windows FTP programs, here are some working under wine and instructions to install it:
ftp commander:
http://frankscorner.org/modules.php?...rtid=43&page=1
WS FTP_le:
http://frankscorner.org/modules.php?...rtid=93&page=1
P.S: kbear is my favorite, if you post the compiling errors, we might be able to help you. Don't forget that you can install kbear with apt-get (apt-get install kbear) skipping the compiling process. Apt-get and synaptic you can get here (Redhat):
http://freshrpms.net/
P.S2: Don't take me wrong, but what's wrong with you guys... the poster of this thread just said to do not recommend gftp and 3 posts out of 8 said "gftp" without even a reason to use it...Does anybody actually read the posts?...
Good luck!

Happy b'day LinuzRulz. It's ironic, as today is also my b'day. (Libra power!)
I'm at home chillin' with the essentials: http://www.kaplowitz.net/images/essentials.jpg
Later I'm goin' out for a killer steak dinner with the gf, then home for some ice cream cake and some "activities" with the gf.
Hope you have some fun today too.
Dave
P.S. Thank for all the ftp client info, peeps.
