what is a good imap server for linux?
 
hi, i am need to run an imap server on my slackwae server, can anyone tell me what a good imap server.

courier-imap and cyrus-imap are the main candidates. generally speaking imap is pretty basic, but these servers move towards adding various encryption and authentication processes too.

I like Binc-Imap. It is an IMAP server, that relies on the Maildir format. So your MTA stores incoming mail in your ~/Maildir directory, and Binc-Imap reads it there.
And you can still use any Maildir-enabled mail client to read it directly without IMAP (I mean: it is not a proprietary format).
