what is 61 service


Do anybody knows that what is service 61..i heared about it from one of my client,,confused about it..

Do you mean, what typically listens on port 61?

oh no brother, it is something related to mailing, i have tried a lot by googling on this but didnt find anything.

it is service 61 not port no.61

I googled for "port 61" and found that is is used by ni-mail. Does that sound like the right thing? There's an RFC about it:

ya it seems to be right but RFC 786 does`nt tell me the full story of MTP and NIMAIL so lets do some more research, i will update you if i have some useful information in this regard, and you also let me know if you find something.
