what if I use worker and prefork on apache?

hi,

My target is to put my apache web server to maximum performance. Now I have a small question. Is it a problem if bote worker and prefork are activated. Moreover, if it's not a problem, is it better to use only worker? Well, I'm using Red Hat 9.0 and the machine is with high traffic.

10x for any answers

As far as I know you can only have one installed at a time or you get errors:
I think I had both installed once and was informed that they conflict with one another, and httpd would not start properly.
