What have I done again =)

Ok I'm trying since like yesterday to install the new version of Gaim so I can log to MSN. Ok now when I ./configure it say I need gtk+, so I go and download it. Now GTK+ say I need pkg-config, ok that's fine I go and install pkg-config. Run .configure of GTK and now ask me for glib, atk and pango. SO I go and download glib 2.0 (there comes the shit) and install it. THEN I run gtk again to see if it installed correctly... seam to. So I go again and download atk and ./configure and look what I get now :

*** 'pkg-config --modversion glib-2.0' returned 2.0.0, but GLIB (2.2.1)
*** was found! If pkg-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of GLib. You may also be able to fix the error
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If pkg-config was wrong, set the environment variable PKG_CONFIG_PATH
*** to point to the correct configuration files
configure: error:
*** GLIB 2.0.0 or better is required. The latest version of
*** GLIB is always available from

Seriously, why didnt that stupid GTK didnt detect my 2.2.1 version ?? How the hell do I uninstall the crappy 2.0 ?

Thanks for any help,

Just installing the corresponding -dev packages for gtk2, glib, et al from your distribution would probably solve your problem in an easy way.
