What GSM phone can I buy to test wireless connectivity with fedora linux?

Hi,

I have a laptop running fedora 6 linux. I travel most of the time and find many places where there are no wi-fi hotspots. I want to use my mobile to connect to the internet from my laptop? I prefer a GSM mobile.. which gsm mobile (Model, company & version) will enable me to connect to the internet from my laptop?

I look forward to your suggestions..

Cheers!!

I find phones cumbersome so I use a Huawei E220 USB modem - 3G/GPRS. The USB connector is also much more rugged than the alternative phone connectors. (Hahaha - never thought I'd see 'USB' and 'rugged' in the same sentence.)

If you really want a phone, 'google' will surely help you find compatibility lists and discussions about what people love/hate about particular phones.
