what do these symbols in cvs output mean?

Hi! I am new to using CVS. I am wondering what the symbols in the output of cvs mean? (the one that appear next to the filename) Is there any place where I can get the list of all the possible symbols and there meanings?

For example:
M xpinstall/wizard/unix/src2/README
P src/something.c
U src/LICENSE

and so on...

In short, just to get you started: M is modified, P stands for patched and U is updated.
