Question What controls the auto fill?

Some commands I can type:

ls a<tab>

and it autofills.

But

myscripts.sh -f a<tab>

doesn't. What controls that? How do I get my scripts autofilling?

Second part to the same question. Sometimes ssh a<tab> works sometimes it doesn't What controls that?

that is the feature of the current shell, at first you need to check the man page of it. for example see Programmable Completion section in the man page of bash
