Theres no denying that Linux is in some ways behind other Operating systems, but we're all here for our own reasons.
What software packages do you use to give yourself more functionality? I'm not talking so much about GIMP as I am finding a decent google drive program (that actually keeps the directory in sync)
Windows has Cortana, and not that I want a voice assistant on my computer, I can't even sync my desktop calendar with my phone (If you know how let me know!)
There are a lot of convience-based programs out there, what are you using?

And what's your reason? Because I certainly can't think of many (if any) meaningful ways Linux is behind, so comments like this tend to be viewed as trolling or flame-bait.

As soon as you define 'functionality' in a meaningful way, we can probably answer. There are packages to keep GDrive sync'ed on Linux that work quite well, along with things for both Onedrive and Dropbox.
And saying "desktop calendar with my phone" isn't saying much; what kind of phone? What kind of calendar? Because my Google calendar syncs quite nicely with my desktop, laptop, and phone without doing anything. If I used a 'real' mail client like Evolution or Kmail, my calendar syncs nicely there, too. Confident other calendars that support standards will sync well too, unless you're using proprietary things from Microsoft (like Outlook), or whatever Apple tells you that you are allowed to use.
My favourite is clearly OpenStack. Running an open-source compute and storage cloud on a PC is an incredible feeling. It's not very useful for calendar synchronization, though.
