Thumbs up What's wrong with Netscape/Mozilla ?

Hi all, this is my first post here so please be nice.
I've been running RedHat AS 3 on my workstation for a few weeks.
At first I used Mozilla, but then I installed Netscape 7.1 (almost the same thing).
This morning my Netscape Messenger correctly announced new mail arrival (wav file), but suddenly (I'm not sure what I did) no more sound comes from Netscape Messenger .

Soundcard Detection works fine, mp3s are played fine with XMMS, wav files are played correctly out of Netscape.

Why doesn't Netscape work the same way it does in Windows ?
Where can I check to fix this problem ?

Thanks in advance.
