Hi I am quit new to all this, I have a multi core (CPU) machine with Redhat AS4 running. Wonder Apache supports multi threading if so how do I find out whether my system uses my 4 core system and I am using Apache 2

The apache starts several base processes of itself first and you can configure the number. After that it starts new threads with every request that comes in. So why shouldn't it use more than 1 core?

Depending on the desktop you are running there are different apps available to take a look at the system resources. On Gnome you can find that somewhere like
System -> Administration -> System Control -> Resources
(I can't switch language to english without reboot so I can't say exactly)
